Diageo is the world’s largest producer of spirits and a key producer in the beer industry. Their well-known brands include Smirnoff, Baileys, Guinness, Johnnie Walker, and Crown Royal.
Diageo World Class operates in over 60 countries around the world educating over 250,000 bartenders through their training and advocacy programs.
World Class Bartender Of The Year
They also host the World Class Bartender of the Year competition annually in a different location. The 2017 competition in Mexico City brought bartenders from all over the world together to show off their craft in the hopes of taking home the crown.
In order to pull off an event like the World Class Bartender of the Year, Diageo needed to live stream simultaneous events to a large number of regional facebook live pages and their website while splicing in pre-recorded educational content and updates.
Diageo’s viewership goals for the whole competition were shattered by the second day of streaming and they reached over a million views for Bartender of the Year event. Diageo also generated tons of great video content they can use in future campaigns and keep their audience engaged throughout the year.
2016 – Event Consisted of 36 live broadcasts in 4 days synchronously streamed LIVE to 7 web pages with 500k views globally
2017 – Doubled event size to 62 live broadcasts in 4 days synchronously streamed LIVE to 11 global World Class Facebook pages, Youtube, and 7 web pages resulting in 3-5X higher views from over 60 countries, and 15-20X higher social engagement.
